MMMMM Menthol January 30, 2006

Filed under: Uncategorized — saralaplante @ 4:44 am

I went out and bought one of those plug in vapor thingies that smell like menthol and help you breathe when you are sick. Hopefully the kids will sleep better tonight. Paige is worse than ever.

Jeff fed the dogs earlier and the cat ran in, starting eating Zoe’s food and poor Zoe didn’t know what to do. She got help from Jeff. Silly giant Great Dane is afraid of a little kitten.

Little Paige is still so sick. Makes me sad to see her like that. Cam is still stuffy, but feeling lots better. Lucky boy gets to sleep in my room tonight because his sheets are still in the laundry. I like when he gets to camp in our room. He talks in his sleep and it cracks me up. Also, I can look over and see him any time I want.

Here’s a picture of me that Jeff just took. What I love about the picture though is Paige’s little eyes at the bottom right.

loads of snot and light switches January 28, 2006

Now Paige is sick too. Her little voice is all raspy and she has lots of snot draining out of her nose and an awful little cough. Poor baby. Cam’s cold is getting better.

Yesterday, Cam had is 4 year appointment and had to have 3 shots. On the third shot, he decided he’d had enough and yanked his arm away. He ended up getting scratched by the needle and the nurse had to go get a new one to give him the rest of his dose so he had to have 4 sticks. The doctor said he weighs too much which made me sad. No more chocolate milk and more fruits for breakfast.

Paige has discovered light switches and she’s now obsessed with them. She likes to have me carry her all over the house to every switch she can find so she can turn it on and off. If I’m not available, the nearest chair or tub of laundry soap does the trick too.

Jeff has another wedding show today.

Cam is still sick. I stayed home from work today to be with him. We are just being super lazy in our PJs sitting on the couch watching movies. It looks like an ice cream for lunch kind of day.

This morning I asked Cam to get a roll of toilet paper and when he came back he said “Here, mom, I got the Charmin Ultra.” I asked if his Dad told him that and he said “no, I recognized the bears on the package and they sing ‘Charmin Ultra’. He also has a habit of asking if the paper towels I bought are ‘Bounty’. Maybe a little less tv is in order? The kid absorbs everything. Except snot. Snot just pours out of his nose.

Paige says ‘UP’ now. She is picking up words all the time. Today I got her to say ‘garbage’, but we’ll see if she remembers it or not. I remember when Cam first started saying ‘up’. His grandma taught him the word and he used to stay it constantly. upupupupupupupupupupupupup.

Yesterday we went to Old Navy. I went for shoes for Cam, but couldn’t find any. They did, however have a bunch of clothes on sale for $1.97 and $2.97 so I ended up buying both kids some clothes. Then, when we got back to the car, Cam threw up. second time in a week. Poor little guy! I think I need to stop taking him out until he feels better.

Jeff has another wedding show this weekend. This time he has some cool furniture and it’s closer to home.

Tuesday… I think. January 24, 2006

Cam is still sick. We had to talk him into going to preschool today. He wanted to stay home and Jeff said “If I’m paying for school, you’re going” haha! So, off he went. When I arrived to pick him up he cried because he wanted to stay. Silly boy. I let him stay an extra half hour because his class was going to go outside and he has been waiting for a week to go outside at school. Now he’s back on the couch coughing and blowing snot bubbles.

Paige has enough hair to put in a clip now! I came home and her grandma had done her hair. It was so cute! She yanked it out shortly after though. Right now she’s running around, chasing the cat and saying ‘keee keee’ for kitty kitty.

Today a friend came over to drop off some videos for us to watch and when he left Paige waved and called out “Bye! See you later!” It sounded like “Bye, ee ooo la-yer” but it was SO easy to understand and so cute! That was a full sentence and usually she only says one word. She is picking up new words very quickly. Yesterday she found a stuffed turtle from the Nemo movie and brought him to me saying ‘Nemo!’.

Poor Cammy is still sick. His throat hurts him and he has a stuffy nose. At nap time he kept sort of waking up and crying. I feel so bad for him. At least he likes to take medicine. We give him the Tylenol PM during the day because it wakes him up and he feels great. The regular is for bed time. Silly kid is backwards.

I started my first day back at work on a Monday today. It was quite nice, actually since I like being there. Cam got to stay home with his grandma and he had a really great day with her. It was nice that he got to spend time with her since he is usually at preschool in the mornings now. He is looking forward to going to school tomorrow morning.

Also today, Gramma and Papa visited. We went shopping at University Village. Paige got a lot of compliments on her silly bunny slippers. We had lunch at the Ram and awesome bread pudding for dessert. Cam had fun riding with the guys now that he has a car seat in both cars.

Tomorrow is the Seahawks game! Go Hawks!! I would love to see them make it to the Superbowl.

Genevieve. The rotten puppy dog.

Jeff’s awful morning January 22, 2006

Filed under: Uncategorized — saralaplante @ 1:05 am

This morning, Dh got up before I did because the dogs were driving him crazy. He stepped out of our room and Genevieve (my dog) started puking on the carpet right at the top of the stairs. Jeff panicked, picked her up and started running down the stairs with her. This terrified the poor fuzzy puppy and caused her to loose all control of her bladder, creating what Jeff would later term ‘Niagra Falls.’ There was pee on Jeff, on every stair, and little pee waterfalls running down the stairs. Jeff threw the dog outside, and grabbed the floor cleaner that works wonders on dog spews of all kinds. He soaked every stair and the top of the stairs by our door. He then went into our bathroom to take a shower. After his shower, Cam came into our room and woke up Paige and me. Jeff opened the bathroom door and I became aware of the nice clean smells… I sat up and said “Honey, thank you so much for cleaning the shower while you were in there, the bleach smells so nice!” DH replied “Oh, I didn’t clean the shower. Genevieve puked and peed on the stairs and I sprayed them with that cleaner solution.” Me: “oh… really?” I laid back down and started thinking. I saw DH in the bathroom. He picked up the spray bottle… turned it around… saw a green label… and the words… ‘Lysol with bleach’. The rest is a blur. Jeff left the room to verify the damage, told me it was indeed a horrible scene on the stairs and we both just started laughing. Laughing laughing laughing. I figure we now have the cleanest stairs in the neighborhood!

So, last night I took Cam to the grocery store where he promptly threw up all over the place. Poor little dude! On the bright side, though, he got out of going to the doctor for vaccines today. He seems back to his normal self now so he has been rescheduled for next Friday.

Today we went to Woodinville to meet Jeff for lunch. We went to this great place called Cosi. It’s my new favorite lunch spot for meeting Jeff. Paige squeals with delight when she sees her dad and then when he leaves again she waves and says ‘byebye’. Very cute!
