Snow! March 29, 2008

It snowed!!  How weird is that?  It snowed all day, even stuck enough for Cam to make this snow alien at his grandma’s house.

Cam can’t fly March 28, 2008

Cam decided to climb over the black metal fence on the steepest side and lost footing at the top.  He landed  head first onto a rock before tumbling to the patio below.  We took him to the ER where he got five stitches in his forehead and a cherry popsicle.  He hated the entire thing, but as soon as he was off the bed, he was all smiles.  Here he is all stitched up and back to normal.

Happy Easter March 23, 2008

Today was low-key, but the kids had a great time. Their Grandma and Great-Grandma came over for breakfast and brought huge Easter baskets the kids. Cam’s was a pirate theme and Paige’s was princess. It was pouring rain all morning, so we had the egg hunt in the house. I don’t think the kids minded though. They loved the search.

I’ve been thinking about painting the inside of the house, so I might start that soon. Paige’s duvet cover is close to being finished so I’ll need a new project. :)

I took this picture this morning after she finished styling her hair. She’s also wearing her PJs with a Christmas skirt on. She’s very fashionable.

England and Paris March 18, 2008

So, I had expected to post each day on our trip, but I only had internet access the first and final nights of our trip. Manda and Chris’s wedding was really fabulous. I completely enjoyed being with their friends and family. The pictures are fabulous, of course! Jeff should have a slide show up on his blog in the next couple of days. I even took a couple of good, useful shots! :) Manda and Chris gave us a bag full of British things and I think I’ve already eaten all the edible items. Why don’t we get such good snacks here? Hobnobs are YUM! The kids got some England shirts and I’ve had a hard time getting them to take them off.

*update.. I started this post a few days ago, and since then, the pictures have gone up. Here’s a link.

The four of us had so much fun in Paris that I was sad to return home and I already want to plan another adventure together. Manda and I laughed and laughed! I laughed so much I got the hiccups on Montmartre and my hiccups are so ridiculous that Manda and I laughed even harder. I miss them! (Manda and Chris, not the hiccups.. the hiccups hurt) . Ella and Joey and Isabel are some of the cutest babies ever! Ella has the most fabulous, adorable British accent. They are all just adorable.

On another note.. my kids are still nuts. The other day, I was listening to a cello suite by Bach and I was explaining the Cello and music to Paige. I told her it was written by Bach and she said “Bach? That’s like a chicken!! Bach bach bach!” Silly girl!! Then.. yesterday, Cam came up to me and said “You might say elephant, but I say pachyderm!” and then he ran out of the room.

They crack me up!

England is fabulous! March 6, 2008

We arrived in London this morning and picked up our Alpha Romeo Brera super fabulous car and headed out to Stonehenge. It’s really scary riding on the wrong side of a car driving down the wrong side of the road! Easy to forget you have to look to your right before turning right because traffic will be coming straight at you. ACK! We saw Stonehenge and then drove through Avebury and made a stop in Stow-on-the-Wold. I love the names here – things are on a river, or in a marsh or by sea. Anyway, Stow-on-the-Wold is really old and has a fabulous church we stopped to photograph. We also found a place with the best latte I have ever had. It was so yummy. If I drive past Stow again, I will definitely stop for that coffee. We then drove up to Coventry and checked in to Coombe Abbey – it has a website, look it up – and took photos of the grounds. We went out for dinner and had authentic fish and chips and peas (yea.. peas?) and a pint. Yum yum. I think the name of the place was Coundon’s. It was fun! We are now back at our swanky Abbey hotel that is super fabulous and about ready to go to sleep.

One other thing about traffic – the stop lights turn yellow before they turn red, but they also turn yellow before they turn green so cars get a head start on getting past. huh.

The lights in this hotel room turn on by pulling a big pull next to the bed! I love it!! :)

Miss the kids, but I bet they are having a great time. I love you, Cammy and Binks!!!
