Cam can ride a two wheel bike! May 27, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — saralaplante @ 9:08 pm

YAY Cam!!  He just.. hopped on and went.   Very cool.  His friend Brian has a smaller bike that Cam has no trouble with.  He struggles a bit more with his own bike because it is bigger, but he’s doing great on that one too.  He got a new scooter this weekend too – it’s battery powered, so it can go pretty quick and he’s obsessed with it.  He has had a great time outside this weekend with all the kids being out in the nice weather.  I didn’t have a camera with me, so no photos of the first ride, but I’ll get one.

I asked Paige if she knew how much I love her and she said:

“Uh, huh.  Like a really big package you can’t carry because it’s full of hearts”

awwww!!  She’s right :)

Just some pictures of them.  One of Paige yesterday when she didn’t want me to take her picture, one of Cam sleeping on the couch with a fever and one of the two of them sleeping in one morning.

Mother’s Day! May 12, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — saralaplante @ 10:38 pm

I had a very nice Mother’s Day.  I didn’t even get out of my pajamas!  My mom was here and we sewed a bit, watched some tv and just did whatever we wanted.  The poor kids were sick and Jeff was exhausted from his busy day shooting a wedding on Saturday, so he and the kids slept on the couch.  I felt awful for the kids, but it was a nice lazy day.  Jeff gave me a book that I can’t wait to read, Cam drew me a picture, Mom and Dad gave me a very cool hand made tile of the Chat Noir poster, and then Jeff gave me this wonderful picture of Cammy at the beach about a week ago.  He is going to order it on a canvas for me so I can hang it.  He tried to get pictures of Paige at the beach too, but she hates the beach.  She might get dirty.. or sandy.. or.. it smells, or it might mess up her hair.  Whatever!!  Anyway, I love this picture!

Cam got this super fabulous new microscope this weekend.  It’s really amazing – you can see the cells in leaves.  I came home today and he had been using it to look at things he had found in his yard and was drawing pictures of his observations in his science notebook.  Here’s one of the pictures he drew from what he saw in a camellia petal.  (not sure why the first picture is so tiny?  I tried fixing it, but it’s hopeless).

Cam has the scar – complete with periodic pains and now…

Glasses!  Add a wand and he’s good to go.

Oh yea, the glasses come with magnetic shades that pop on and off.

I ruined my birthday surprise, but YAY for a new machine! May 7, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — saralaplante @ 6:15 pm

I had talked to Jeff about a new sewing machine and after a few conversations, I was positive he wouldn’t be buying me one for my birthday – besides, they are expensive and we got our tax rebate and he had said I could spend it on a machine…  Anyway, I went to the store thinking I would just look and get an idea of price, but this one was awesome and it was $300 off until Saturday only, so I bought it!  I called Jeff and he informed me that he and our parents were going in on one for me for my birthday :(   So.. I ruined the surprise.  On the other hand.. I love my new machine and I get to use it right now.  It does very cool things… like.. it threads the needle for me, it pulls the threads to the back of the fabric and trims them off for me!  It does lots of different stitches and it looks pretty.  I told the lady at the store that my current machine starts to smell when I run it for too long and she said the motor is going to go out at any time.  Wouldn’t that have been a bummer?  Right in the middle of a project, it would have just died on me.  I’m keeping it for the kids to learn on though.  Woo Hoo!

Here’s a picture of my new one.
