Paige fills a stocking December 26, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — saralaplante @ 7:38 pm

Paige filled a Christmas stocking for me.  Jeff said she had gone around the house in the days leading to Christmas and filled it, but wouldn’t let him see.  As I pulled out each item, I was laughing SO hard I had tears running down my face.
I asked her how she knew to put these things in my stocking and she said “I saw Jack Skellington do it!!”  (Jack is from The Nightmare Before Christmas and he doesn’t understand Christmas but is trying..  If you haven’t seen the movie, you should!)

So.. I got..  A scrap of fabric, a lamp from her dollhouse, paper scraps, an ornament from the tree, a pencil, her brush and comb, a hair clip and.. My favorite item… A half eaten piece of chocolate.

Still snowy.

Paige can whistle and Cam is a comedian December 21, 2008

I’m a blogging failure.  I just can’t find the time to keep up.  I’m back in school – again.  Getting a bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA in marketing.  The MBA is all online, but the engineering degree requires two nights a week plus Saturdays.  I kind of like it, but it is exhausting.

Paige learned how to whistle recently.  I don’t know when, but she was sitting next to me and just started whistling!

Cam is silly :)   He is in first grade and doing well.  The teacher says his math skills are excellent and he’s thinking about things beyond a second grader’s level.

It’s been snowing a LOT!  We have a storm coming in tonight and already we have quite a bit of new snow.  I haven’t been able to drive for .. umm  about a week?  And it isn’t letting up.  It’s just completely iced over.  I broke down and tried to do all of my shopping online.  Thank goodness for Amazon.com!  I did decide to trek out to Costco today, but it wasn’t one of my smarter moves.  I left just as it was getting dark and thought I”d buy a sled to get my goods home, but Costco didn’t have any sleds and when I left, I had a heavy Blu-Ray player to carry home through the driving snow and wind.  (Had to say driving)  The snow is beautiful, though and we’ve been sledding.

Oh, did I mention Jeff sold the Mini?  Traded it for a 2008 white RX-8.  Looks great!!

So, Cam started first grade and he loves it! His best friend from Kindergarten was also placed in his class which really made him happy.

Paige and Cam both went to Wenatchee for a week while Jeff and I went to Nice, France. We had such a great time and the kids had a fabulous time with their grandparents! They went to Silverwood which is a theme park with rides and Cameron even went on a really big, scary roller coaster. I think he needs a trip to Disneyland now. Jeff and I relaxed in Nice, rented a scooter and visited Eze, Grasse, Monaco and Cannes. While we were in Monaco, we found a perfect 10 year anniversary ring to go with my wedding set.

We also found a great new coffee machine that makes espresso the way you commonly find it in France. We bought ourselves one when we got back and I’m still in love with it.

I shot a couple of wedding with Jeff when we returned which I really enjoyed and I’m heading off to Atlanta next week for a photography workshop with Denis Reggie. Jeff and Susie went to it together last year and really enjoyed it, so I’m excited. Of course, I have to catch a Braves game while I’m there too :) Can’t miss a home baseball game!

Just a couple of pictures from Nice:

School Supplies July 28, 2008

I took Cam ‘Back to School’ shopping yesterday and we had a blast!  He got a very nice new backpack, crayons, pencils, folders, lunch box…  all the good stuff.  I pretty much let him pick whatever he wanted as long as it was on the list.  He is very proud of his new backpack and supplies and tried everything out.  He made sure the lunch box would fit in the backpack and then carried it around a bit.  He says he is very excited to go back to school.  Woo Hoo!!  Paige was feeling left out, so she got a folder, crayons, pencil box and her own pair of scissors.  Target has really cheap back to school supplies right now!

Wall-E was okay.. not my favorite of Pixar’s movies, but it was fun.  I think I liked Kung Fu Panda better.  The kids liked Wall-E, though.  They had a great time.  Saturday night we went swimming with Mom’s neighbors and had a BBQ.  Sunday, we drove up to Uncle Tim’s to check out his barn (which looks amazing!) and then the kids and I headed home.
Cam started Taekwondo yesterday and loves it.  I came home after school last night and found Cam teaching Paige how to hold her hands properly and how to hop like a frog.  It was very cute!  He’ll go twice a week for the summer.  Paige starts gymnastics a week from Friday and both will start swim lessons soon.  Wow.  Busy schedule!

We are going to go either Friday or Saturday in Wenatchee with Cam and Paigie’s friends.  Should be great fun!

The kids had pancakes for breakfast this morning at Mom’s.  Then, Cam started mixing potions and Paige joined as his assistant.  She says “What, Professor?” with a British accent.  We really must get her over to meet Ella.  They’ll speak the same language!  hah.

Cam had his kindergarten concert last night (pictures on Jeff’s camera.. post later), so I did Paige’s hair for the event.  She loved her pig tails.
